Zodiac origins can be traced back to ancient Babylonian astronomy, around the 5th century BCE. The Babylonians divided the sky into 12 sections, each associated with a constellation through which the sun, moon, and planets appeared to travel. These constellations formed the basis of the zodiac signs we know today. Later, the Greeks adopted and adapted these symbols into their own astrological system, which was then further refined by the Romans, leading to the familiar zodiac symbols used in Western astrology today.
